Our experience covers a wide range of building project types but one area in which we enjoy a particularly good reputation is the delivery of two-storey extensions. This type of project can be quite challenging, especially when working on private residences which need to remain watertight and habitable for the duration of the works.
In addition to two-storey extensions on houses, we regularly add these types of extension to commercial premises as owners find that the income from the additional space outweights the build cost.
We'll be adding some imagery and description of previous extension work to this page over the coming months as we expand the new site, but for now our first example features a house on the outskirts of Taunton.
Farmhouse Extension Utilising Reclaimed Stone
This house on the outskirts of Taunton dates from 1860 and the extension we built includes a lot of reclaimed stone from a demolished outbuilding. The lower floor provided an additional downstairs reception room, whilst the first floor added a master bedroom, en-suite bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe.
The walls consist of a fairly straightforward block and render, with a tiled roof set slightly below the level of the existing structure.
Commercial Property Extension in Taunton
We've started work adding a second storey to a business premises in Taunton. On the face of it the job is fairly straightforward but the scaffolding team have a few challenges and we'll be reclaiming a large proportion of the materials involved. The gallery shows the first day of the job and once it's completed there will be another gallery.
